Homefront Review

Homefront is a game about the United States being occupied by a unified North Korea. That is about all I got from the single player, you didn't really feel like you were in the game much. The single player campaign was short and bland. Shoot them, press this button, call in air strikes and the always present sniper mission. And that's the good part of the game.

The online play is riddled with flaws and hackers. The only fun thing I found to do in snipe because the snipers are so overpowered it really means one shot - one kill. The maps are over decarated flat maps and the only truly good map in my opinion is Angel Island and no one plays on it. There are over 400 servers running maps but only 30 or so actually have players and even then your lucky if their are more than  four people on a map. The match making is terrible. When you go to refresh the server list it either crashes or gives you a total of around ten server that are all empty.

Overall I give Homefront a 2 out of 5 because it has some fun parts but they are overshadowed by the bad.

Bored

So this week has been really boring, I wanted to pick up Homefront for PC but I can't until this weekend. Also am trying to decide if I should spend my money on turntables or not. I one to get something I would use a lot and I don't know if turntables is it. So much on my mind.

Lots of different things

Okay so a lot has happend since my last post. Here are some of them.

I have decided to change the turntables I am going to buy, I originally was going to buy Numark Mixtrack Pro but have decided to buy two Pioneer CDJ-200s. It is a little pricer ($600 plus a mixer) but I think it will be worth the money.

I have gotten my money back from the person who hacked my PayPal account. Thank God.

I passed 100 Followers with my blog.

I am making more edits to the song that I wrote on my 808.

Angry

So, today I got an email about a three $50 purchases that "I" had made using my PayPal account. I never bought anything worth $50 and certainly not three times. I had been hacked and someone had bought a game back three times. This makes me mad to no end! I don't even have $150 on my PayPal account. I ended up getting my money back. So help the person who did this if I find them.

Well there was a price drop where I am buying them so I will have them by the 20th! I will post some remixes ASAP

EDIT: I had orginally chosen the Numark Mixtrack but have decided to go Pro with the Mixtrack so I do not know when I will purchase it. If you have any good cheap websites that sell new Numark Mixtrack Pro, post them in comment please!

Must Have's of Technologic People

Based of my own experience here are some must haves for tech people on the go, in no order at all.

1. Portable Hard Drive (Greater than 250 Gigs)
This is to store files that you can actually use, sure an 8 gig stick would work for most people but your not most people are you? I use my to carry around Minecraft, Utorrent, and large files.

2. Camcorder (1080p is cheap now)
Who knows we you'll need to show someone how to do something to their hardware? I have a Kodak Zi8.

3. PC clean up kit (Microsoft Security Essentials, Firefox, Chrome)
This goes into your Portable Hard Drive, it saves grandma's computer a lot.

4. A basic understanding of 32 and 64-bit machines and what OS they are running (not all software will run on 64 or 32 or different OS's)
About 1/3 of all files download will ask what your hardware is, I have a 64-Bit Windows 7 Ultimate, some thing will not work with my computer. More on this for another post

5. Basic skills using Adobe software (photoshop, illustator, dreamweaver)
If you want to build a website, edit photos or make a poster learn these. Adobe is the god of design.

A brief view of Daft Punk's gear

This is just some of what Daft Punk's gear is.

JazzMutant Lemur
As seen at The Grammys with Kanye West
This is the most recent, most bad ass price of gear in the duo's arsenal. The Lemur for shot comes basically as a blank slate and you build whatever you want on it. It works as a controller for Ableton Live and other software like it. The Lemur can control any and all settings such as fade, volume, tempo and even as a digital turn table. The price is around 3,000 USD.

Moog Voyager
One of famed synths of Dr. Moog (real doctor, unlike Dr. Dre and Dr. Beat) this synth is the sound behind Discovery and Homework albums. This is considered an old synth but still being emulated today. My very own Roland MC-808 has a Moog Voyager sound. The Voyager is an analog synth.

More later, off to work

Any topic is fine, those are just suggestions.

Your Best Friend

You have friends and then you have best friends, mine is a guy named Mitch, me and Mitch started out the way most best friends do... by hating each other. After spending more time with him than my parents due to Marching Band, Jazz Band, Drum Line, Winter Percussion and hanging out. All of that in one year and we've been doing this for three years. Plus all the time before any of the bands started we hung out.

Mitch is the kind of friend you can tell any joke to, talk to about girls and things. I have know this kid before he started to date, once he did it creeped me the hell out. How could my best friend like a girl that much, I had girlfriends before he did but he never seemed interested, he wasn't gay just didn't have time.

Now it has come to a point in my life that I value my friends more and more each day. Mitch is still my best friend.

Local News

The local news in my state is so terrible, they did a piece based off the homeless man who became a radio host. They asked local homeless to sing and announce things, it was so bad it was on The Daily Show.

Runescape - Everyone's Old Game

If you ever played games on your PC from around 2001 to Present you have played Runescape. If you played in the good ol' days you know that the PVP and Trade was the main point in that game unless you put out money. It seems that Jagex has brought back PVP and Free Trade along with a lot of new features. If you have played on your character recently I urge you to go back and play for an hour or so.

Music.

I am a percussionist, I play the drums, piano and mallets. I bought myself a Roland MC-808 (drum machine) and started playing around with it. The only bad thing is I cannot find any originality in my music, all of my music is samples and redubs. The music I sample from is...

Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Daft Punk - Aerodynamic (Love that)
DJ Shadow - Organ Donor
Justice - Two Minutes to Midnight
Metallica - One (guitar)
Linkin Park - In The End

Blood Shot Eyes

So as you know I slept on a piece of metal last night and now I look like it, my eyes are blood shot. I am in the procsess of trying to set up a pay to play minecraft server so I dont have to pay out the butt for a dedicated. Wish me luck.

Terrible Night

Slept on a pull out bed from he 80s. It was metal with sheets. Nuff Said.

Laptop Burns

I has them.

Dedicated Server Prices?

Okay, so i wanted to buy a dedicated minecraft server. It seems that all of the servers are way to over priced. How much bandwith and memory do you need to run a Java game? I can understand if it was like a 50 or 100 person server but 10-20 person servers are like $30 a month. This is rediculous!

Ice Storm

I live in the part of the US that is getting hit by the ice storm. I love seeing ice cover grass, there is snow snow its just frozen ice. It breaks like in those cheesy movies you see on SyFy. LOL

Restart

Minecraft, minecraft. I love that game. Anyone play?
